The top 5 "secret" games coming to 360

Xbox 360 Fanboy:According to Planet Xbox 360, the latest Official Xbox Magazine dishes out what its editors believe to be the top 5 games being secretly made for the Xbox 360. More or less the list is a wish list of games that most of us would like to see make an appearance on our beloved console. Many of them have been rumored for quite some time, but it's a nice list nevertheless. Check it out after the break.
  • World of Warcraft -- the article suggests that Microsoft is paying Blizzard copious amounts of cash to make a console version of the incredibly successful PC game. OXM expects the game not to be a direct port, but rather a new version designed especially for the console.
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic III -- This one is more or less a no-brainer. The first two were successful titles and the franchise has a rabid fan base to utilize.
  • Duke Nukem Forever -- considering the success of Prey, it's not too much of a leap to think 3D Realms is considering this for Xbox 360. Of course, they'll probably port Duke Nukem Forever to every platform possible in order to recoup ten years worth of development expenses.
  • Crimson Skies 2 -- OXM suggests that the original Crimson Skies was popular enough to warrant a sequel. Supposedly, Microsoft is keeping it under wraps so they'll have something to show off in 2008.
  • Hellgate: London -- we've reported this possibility before. OXM conjectures that the 360 version is being kept secret so that Hellgate can help push the Games for Windows brand. Considering the game is being co-published by EA, we wouldn't be surprised if it crosses over to the 360 (where it can make even more money).
So there you have it, OXM's picks for the top 5 games secretly in development for the Xbox 360. Are you interested in seeing these titles make the jump to 360? Anyone care to add a few more to the list?

Video: Command and Conquer 3 Vision gameplay - Xbox 360 Fanboy

Xbox 360 Fanboy Not long ago, it was revealed that Command & Conquer 3 would feature Vision camera support on the Xbox 360. It was previously believed that players would only be able to see each other before and after a match, but this video shows video chat windows during the match as well. All in all, the video reveals two things. One, Vision cam support is perfect for a game like Command & Conquer. Two, this may be the most annoying feature ever conceived. The video goes out of its way to show us how annoying this feature could be, and we're not exactly sure that's good marketing strategy, but the feature is at least promising.

Also, the video features actual 360 footage, giving us a look at the 360 control interface. It looks essentially like Battle for Middle Earth II, which we were expecting. It does, however, look much faster than BFMEII, which is definitely welcome.

For now, C&C3 for the 360 is saddled with a nebulous spring 2007 release date. Anyone plan on picking it up? Watch the video and tell us what you think (you can also grab the HD version here).

The perfect scaler for those Xbox 360 with a 1080p TV

Engadget HD: "The world of scalers changes as fast as HD itself, as technology improves, the prices come down and new needs are met. Gefen's new HD Mate Scaler is just what many have asked for, but doesn't quite cover all the bases. The most obvious thing missing is HDMI, but Gefen has other products for that, the HD Mate is for component and DVI users. It features 2 component inputs, 1 DVI input and 1 DVI output, all switchable via an on-screen display and IR remote. The DVI out is HDCP compliant and 1080p, analog as well as toslink inputs are accepted and transcoded accordingly, as well as audio delay settings for those who can't stand when the lips don't match up. The great thing about any stand alone scalers is that they aren't held back by the same CSS limitations as built in scalers and can allowing you to watch your DVDs at 1080p and anything else you got to throw at it. This might be the perfect scaler for those Xbox 360 and PS3 owners with a 1080p TV."

Epic retracts Gears sequel statement

Xbox 360 Fanboy: "In our report on Cliffy B's take on Jazz Jackrabbit and its potential for Xbox Live Arcade, he made a tongue-in-cheek remark about 'potential sequels' for the Gears of War franchise. Some people took this and ran with it as confirmation that there 'ToTAlLY iz a GEars sequaL!1!!'. Mark Rein made an appearance on the official Gears of War forum and stated that Cliffy in no way confirmed the development of a sequel. Mark has also said that if popularity and room for innovation was still there, he saw no reasons to stop at three games. So, not that we're suggesting anything, but if there was enough story and progression in the gameplay mechanics, how far can you see the Gears franchise going?"

Black Xbox 360 rumor is staying alive

Xbox 360 Fanboy: "It's time, once again, to add some fuel to the once smoldering rumor-mill fire! We've reported on it before, but we have new information on the rumored black Xbox 360. According to German website Xbox-Archiv, they've received insider's information on Microsoft's plans for a new (and totally un-official) Xbox 360 model and yes, it's black. They are reporting that this new black Xbox 360 will launch this May, include a 120GB HD, HDMI input and also change our current Xbox 360 bundle offerings. With its release the Core bundle will disappear from existence and the Premium (Pro bundle) will drop in price. The website also touched on a Halo 3 release date stating it would be out by the end of November, something we already expected.

Microsoft, we know a new Xbox 360 model is coming out ... just fess up already! Is anyone with us on this one and getting sick of waiting for an official announcement and simply want some hard facts? We're thinking that the best chance of hearing any official news is in the coming weeks to steal some of the PS3's European launch thunder. As we say; death to the Core, a cheaper Premium, and all hail the new black 360! Can't you just feel the excitement?"

Viva Piñata - demo now available on Xbox Live Marketplace

Xboxic: "If you’re one of many who felt that Viva Pinata was just a little too girly for you to go out and purchase, a solution to your problem may now be at hand. A playable demo of Viva Piñata is available from Xbox Live Marketplace albeit in the US only. Following our glowing review, we highly recommend that even the most masculine of gamers lay down their weapons for just a moment and pick up their shovel in this simply wonderful game."
