More Halo 3 information revealed

The public beta is only a little over 2 weeks away but new information keeps coming in. This week developer Bungie mentions a new feature called “Saved films” which is currently being tested for the multiplayer beta, and if we may believe them, it’s going to be “pretty amazing”.

They didn’t go into details about this new feature but it sounds like a replay feature which would allow you to capture your matches and perhaps edit them so they’re ready for distribution. The beta will also support split screen, but only for 2 players at the time being. 4 player split screen should be available in the final version though. They even took HD monitors into account so that the game will maintain a proper aspect ratio.

There were certain rumors flying around the internet that Halo 3 would be running at 60fps in 1080p even though it sounded slightly unrealistic. Bungie has now confirmed that the game won’t do that, but it will display 1080p on the Xbox 360 Elite. That sounds a little strange though since VGA support 1080P just as well.

The update also does some rumor busting, shooting down reports that Microsoft was forcing the developer to make Halo 3 1080p running at 60 frames per second. It is unrealistic to expect all the game’s action to be running at those numbers, Bungie says. It will display 1080p on the Xbox 360 Elite, though.

Bungie also supplied a picture with displays the controls for the upcoming beta version. They added that these controls might change in the final version.

Gears of War movie script leaked

The sneaky lads over at LatinoReview.com have unearthed the first twenty two pages of our Gears of War movie script. The website, known for posting legit movie scripts prior to their release, summarized the leaked GoW movie script in full detail. And it's weird that since the movie's announcement all we've wanted is more information, any information on the movie. But now that the first twenty two pages have been leaked and are ready to read, we just cannot look at it. Call us wusses, call us babies, but we don't want to spoil the enjoyment we'll feel when we see Gears on the big screen and watching the story unfold for the first time. Nope, we refuse to taint our Gears movie fun, but if you're daring enough to read all the juicy details by all means go ahead. We're just crazy anal about things like that.
