Xbox 360 Costs Over $500 Less to Make than PS3, says iSuppli

"Costs may soon be coming down for Sony's PS3, but they've already come down a good deal for Microsoft's Xbox 360, which costs significantly less to make according to research firm iSuppli. Now if only that would lead to a price drop at retail... [Update: data is actually from November]"

Xbox 360 Spring Update Delayed At Least 24 Hours

I just heard from the Dashboard team that we'll have to wait at least another day for the Dashboard update to be released. The update is not being released in the next 24-hours. That is all I know at this time, but I’ll get more information tomorrow afternoon (PT) and I will update this post as needed. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

First Call of Duty 4 Screenshot

"Activision released today the first screenshot of Call of Duty 4 and instead of releasing a normal image, it provided us with a 3D screenshot made using QuickTime VR."

Forza 2: The images menace

"New night, new Forza 2 Xbox Live session this time with the very brutish Sebull and the ever awesome (haha, right) Mirik of Xboxworld.nl. As you can see it was more like playing bumper cars than proper racing, but it still was a lot of fun. Also note how mean Chespace was with us :D"

Unreal Tournament 3 screens

ut3.jpg

I’d bet that if any PC gamer was asked what their top 3 upcoming FPS’s were, UT3 and Crysis would fill two of the three spots. And for good reason - both games look absolutely insanely delicious and will easily justify taking that $1800 out of the kids’ college fund to pay for that 8800 Ultra SLI setup. Plus, the fact that the developers of both games know damn well what they’re doing and have proven it on numerous occasions, probably doesn’t hurt either. But check out the screens already:

Spider-Man 360 skins

In honor of Spider-Man 3 hitting game retailers and theatres near you this past weekend, DecalGirl has come out with a line of "Webslinger" skins for your electronic devices, most notably, the Xbox 360 console, controller, and HD DVD player accessory. All in all they look pretty solid, and the pricing isn't terrible, as you can choose how much of your console you want to skin. Hopefully they'll come with a Venom themed variation of the skin, as that would be pretty badass. You open to skinning your 360 Spidey style?

Shigeru Miyamoto: I Could Make Halo

"In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Shigeru Miyamoto said he could create a game like Halo but he simply choose not to. The publication asked Miyamoto if he'd develop a game designed from the beginning to cater the American kids.

American gamers have bought more copies of Halo than they did of Metroid, for instance. Do you ever worry that you're losing touch with what young American players might want to play?

I could make Halo. It's not that I couldn't design that game. It's just that I choose not to. One thing about my game design is that I never try to look for what people want and then try to make that game design. I always try to create new experiences that are fun to play.
