Major Xbox announcement coming tomorrow?

"Word on the street (that is, Gamertag Radio) is that a major Xbox announcement is dropping tomorrow, set to coincide with the final round of the Pac-Man World Championship. Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg dropped the hint via an instant message session with GTR's Godfree. What the hell is this announcement about? We have no idea, only Greenberg's cryptic words, 'we have a secret unveil for gamers around the world that I think will go down in video game history.'

What in the world could it possibly be? Does it have anything to do with Ignition, Microsoft's new music initiative? We've contacted Microsoft to see if we can dig anything up, and we'll let you know as soon as we hear anything."

$104 wireless racing wheel spotted

"While out and about this weekend our fanboy eyes were programmed to find two things: delicious looking food and great gaming deals. Both were found (the teriyaki chicken was superb) as we spotted the recently discounted Xbox 360 wireless racing wheel for the rock bottom price of $104.24 at Sam's Club. It looked as if they were clearancing out the racing wheel similar to how they are treating the 360's HD DVD player. So, if you're in the market for a cheap racing wheel, give old Sam a visit as the prices vary from store to store. Or you could always pay a little more and get it online for a reasonable $119.82. Happy bargain hunting."

Bloomberg: Wii Outsells PS3 5:1 in Japan

Business site Bloomberg reported today that Wii outsold PlayStation 3 by a wide margin during May, as the DS similarly trounced the PSP.
ImageBloomberg cited Japanese Famitsu game magazine publisher Enterbrain, which said Nintendo sold 251,794 Wiis during May. The PS3 sold just over 50,000 units. Xbox 360 was a dot in the rear view at 11,082 sold during the entire month.

The DS outsold PSP at the same rate, with Nintendo’s handheld selling 620,670 versus 123,673 for Sony’s portable.

The gap between PS3 and Wii widened since April in Japan, when the Wii outsold PS3 four-to-one.

Video: New Small Arms maps and characters in action

We recently revealed to you that Gastronaut studios has a couple of maps and new characters coming over Xbox Live Marketplace downloadable content for Small Arms. Well, Godfree over at Gamertagradio has a video showcasing Ivar and Gullarp in the new arenas. Since the new characters are barbarian in nature, the new areas follow suit. Unfortunately, we only have the name of one map, Iceberg, as the other is shown through a mission instead. So how do these look, or would you rather have them come with new weapons?
