Hands-On Gallery: Colorware Makes Xbox 360 Elites Obsolete

colorware360hands.jpgIf you're one of the few who wanted an Xbox 360 Elite more for the color than for the HDMI or the 120GB hard drive, then you're in luck. For around $99, you can get your own black (or blue or green or red or orange or whatever color you want) Xbox 360 that, in our opinion, looks even better than Microsoft's matte paint job.

A Look at why Wii will never catch Xbox360 in the USA

Devil';s Advocate Mathematics: Why Wii will not outsell 360 in the USA in the United States, for the week of May 6, Wii outsold Xbox 360 by 32,000 units. If this rate were to continue unchanged, Wii would catchup to Xbox 360 in mid-may 2009. However, there are two reasons why Wii will not catch up to 360 in the United States.

Halo Wars already a blast to play

Buried under the massive weight of the Halo 3 beta, a new Halo Wars update has been quietly released by the folks at Ensemble Studios. The update focuses on the ongoing multiplayer playtests of Halo Wars, and apparently things are moving along swimmingly. It looks like Ensemble is happy with the control scheme now, so they can spend more time actually playing the game. The game's placeholder features (such as plain, rectangular buildings) are slowly being replaced by more detailed assets. Finally, artists are spending a lot of time tuning the game's scale. In other words, you want your infantry units big enough to see, but not so big that they look like giants compared to buildings and vehicles. Hit the "read" link to check out the update.

Déjà vu: PGR3 image used to promote Sony

Back in January Xbox 360 Fanboys everywhere erupted with laughter when Sony accidentally used an image from Project Gotham Racing 3 to promote Gran Turismo HD. Well, it's happened again, though Sony likely isn't at fault. A KIA website ad used an image of a car from PGR3 which alternated with the real version the same car. Making this even funnier is the Playstation 3 branding all over the screen. As CVG notes, it was more likely someone at KIA who made the mistake, not Sony. Still, the irony of using an Xbox 360 game to promote the graphical realism of the PS3 is just too good. The ad has since been changed, but you can see the offending image (including the telltale license plate) above.

EA an awful place to work. Awful great!

EA employees get five to ten free games per year, heavy discounts on games and systems, plus amenities like an on-site gym, a DVD library and stock options. Still, given the past complaints, we can't help but gape at Fortune's statement that EA employees "might not have time to spend any of the $60,000 starting salary that's offered to the average.

Images of NBA 08

"Sony announced a new game at Gamer's Day - NBA 08 was there, and, wow. They're now focusing in face emotions, making all those crazy-eyes turning the floor into a maniac paradise. Aren't most of them supposed to look at the ball?
Update: Trailer added, including MP4 version.
Update 2: Well, who knew! This one is made by Sony, and is called NBA 08. Sorry about that."

Sega Rally Revo images

"With DiRT is focusing on McRae's new own sport, Sega Rally Revo might be one of the last genuine in-the-woods rally game out there. Sega seems to like the idea of showing a 25% part of the *real* images, in weird resolutions, while releasing the full images a couple of weeks later. So, expect some more watchable versions of these soon."

Images of The Darkness

"2K Games showing their games at Gamer's Day? You bet! The Darness looking even better than before? You bet! Some crazy dwarf monster drilling a human in the chest? Well... you course!"

Images of TimeShift

"With Gamers Day highly on, Vivendi released these images of Timeshift - probably from the newly (officially) announced Playstation 3 version."
