CliffyB to Executive Produce 'Gears of War' Movie

When asked if Epic will have someone protecting the 'Gears' franchise while the movie is in production, Rein smiled and said, "Cliff [Bleszinski] is going to executive produce." This is especially terrific news for those of us who have come to adopt Marcus Fenix and company. With many great games giving birth to many bad movies, it's exciting to a

Oblivion PS3 vs. Xbox 360 comparison

Ahh, video console comparisons. As flamebait goes, it doesn't get much better than video console comparisons. Wary as we are of this, we can't help but post GameTrailers' recent video comparison of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Oblivion. Granted, Bethesda has had a substantial amount of time to improve the PS3 version, but there are some undeniable differences. In particular, at about 1:30, you'll witness some nasty pop-up on the 360 version. We're only speculating here, but that may be the result of all PS3's containing a hard drive; Bethesda didn't have to account for a Core version as on 360. There are some other subtle differences, you can see a few more wrinkles on the King's face in the PS3 version and some of the weapon textures look sharper. Other textures look better on the 360, though, most notably the textures of the cobblestones on the city streets.

Now, Bethesda has made it known that many of the graphical additions made to the PS3 version will be made available for the 360 version as well. Hopefully, we'll see another comparison after that comes to pass.

To the topic at hand, though, can you declare a clear winner in this video? Hit the "read" link to compare them in HD.

Xbox 360 to support Blu-ray if needed

Xbox 360 to support Blu-ray if needed - Pro-G: "Neil Thompson, head of Xbox in the UK, has said that Microsoft will support whichever high-def disc format wins the war.
An add-on similar to the HD DVD Player seems most likely

In the high definition disc war between Blu-ray and HD DVD, Microsoft and Sony are currently stood firmly in rival camps. Sony's PlayStation 3 comes as standard with a Blu-ray drive, while the Xbox 360 has an HD DVD add-on to enable playback of HD DVD movies.

Just because Microsoft is supporting HD DVD now, it doesn't mean the software giant won't offer Blu-ray support if needed. Speaking to the BBC, UK Xbox boss Neil Thompson said, 'Whatever format wins it is highly likely we will offer a solution.'

Obviously Thompson hasn't confirmed Blu-ray for the Xbox 360, but it does sound like Microsoft is open to the idea of Xbox 360 Blu-ray playback should it be required."
