McFarlane, Salvatore, Shilling form Green Monster Games

A new US development outfit has emerged under the name Green Monster Games, claiming to “burst onto the scene in epic and remarkable fashion.”

The unique-sounding company is lead by president Curt Shilling, a baseball player and avid MMO fan, with comic-book creator Todd McFarlane acting as lead artist, and fantasy writer R.A. Salvatore as creative director.

Announcing its intentions in job advertisements across the web, Green Monster Games intends to “turn the industry on its ear with a product release and business model never before seen”.

Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive to cost £199

Retail sources have indicated to GamesIndustry.biz that Microsoft is currently planning to price the standalone HD-DVD drive at GBP 199 (293 Euro), and to package it with two HD-DVD movies. The sources also suggested that Microsoft will bundle the Premium console and next-generation movie player together for under GBP 400 (589 Euro) – and that the price could even be as low as GBP 375 (552 Euros).

Ninja Gaiden 2 confirmed for Xbox 360 by Team Ninja’s lead designer

Team Ninja’s lead designer Tomonobu Itagaki got interviewed in Hawaii (lucky!) last week by IGN about the upcoming Xbox 360 sim/volleyball game Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 (DOAX2). Luckily for us the interview strayed onto other topics as well, like Ninja Gaiden 2, DOA: Code Cronus, TGS announcements, and the possibility of Team Ninja’s entree into PlayStation 3 development. Windows Media Player won't stream video to Xbox 360

Arstechnica.com managed to contact Microsoft regarding the news that WMP 11 would support streaming video to the Xbox 360. The bad news is that it was an error on their part. While WMP does support Windows Media Connect for pictures and music, video is not supported. The MS website has since been editted to reflect this disappointing information.

Sonic the Hedgehog (PS3,X360) MAJOR site update.

Sega earlier today gave their new NextGen Sonic title game site a huge overhaul, adding many new sections and a first look (or should I say listen) at the Main Theme of the game "In his World." Another new major discovery found on the site is that the once rumored to be character in the game 'Blaze the Cat' will be making an appearance.

Forza 2 Delayed Until 2007

After a distinct lack of new info of late, and some rather rendered-looking screenshots, the Community Manager of the official Forza forums has announced a new release date will be revealed at Microsoft's X06 event on Sept 27. Some are speculating that an extra 3 months of development should do the trick, which would place the game into March 2007.
