Sony LIES About PS3 Award...What Else Is New?

This past Monday is my daily update to CB’s 2007 Preview I mentioned something a bit controversial. Basically I said that Sony has a nasty habit of lying to us gamers and I don’t know why we put up with it.

”Even if we do get an official word on a Killzone project from Sony or developer Guerilla Games, the result is usually a giant pack of lies. Between the first game being touted as the game to finally top Halo, and that whole fiasco at E3 ‘05 with their “real-time” footage, who knows what to believe from those guys.”

I’m sure some Sony fans were none to pleased to hear such words but I come to you now to offer you words of sincerest condolence and apology…

Eh hem…I told you so.

With that out of the way, I think I had better explain myself. See for the past week Sony has been bragging like mad. They’ve been running from publication to publication telling journalists that Sixaxis controller actually won an Emmy for contributions to game design. We here at CB didn’t really see why that was significant gaming news, and so glossed over the story. When the story hit however everyone and their brother raised an eyebrow and mumbled, “Wait the Sixaxis beat out the Wii-mote?”
