A Third Way for DVD

At CES, LG Electronics has unveiled a next-generation DVD player that works with both Blu-ray and HD DVD discs. “We've developed the Super Multi Blue Player to end the confusion caused by the current competition between Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD. Customers are no longer forced to choose between the two formats,'' said LG president and chief technology officer Hee Gook Lee. The dual-disc player will be released in the weeks ahead.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. is set to introduce Total HD Disc, which can carry both formats.
